Mate 70 series chipset has been a mystery, but a new leak now sheds light on this matter. According to the details, Huawei has seemingly readied a 6nm chip called Kirin 9100. The company could use this alleged processor for its upcoming handsets.

A Telegram account @spektykles has revealed the key specs of the Huawei Kirin 9100 6nm chip. It is an octa-core processor codenamed HiSilicon Baltimore.

The chipset runs on a 1+3+4 CPU architecture. It has one Cortex-X1 prime core @2.67GHz frequency, three Cortex-A78 medium cores @2.32GHz, and four Cortex-A55 small cores @2.02GHz. It is further paired with the Maleoon 910 GPU.

Cortex-X1 is the highlight of this chip. It claims to offer a 30% performance increment over the Cortex-A77. The core contributes to faster app loading times and improved responsiveness. Overall, it delivers a quicker and more seamless user experience.

The alleged Kirin 9100 uses Arm v8 and uproots on a SMIC N+3 node (6nm) technology. Yet, it may beat many flagship models in terms of performance.

While many of us expect a 5nm processor with the Mate 70 series, some rumors say otherwise. Since Huawei is still struggling in the chip field, it is unlikely to see a 5nm chipset by at least next year. But we may have a new and improved variant instead.

The rumored Kirin 9100 chip that has surfaced online seems an option for the Mate 70 series. Even though the company hasn’t confirmed any such news, it will surely use a better and upgraded chipset for the upcoming Mate smartphones.

Mate 70 series is ready to debut this month. Ahead of its grand unveiling, more leaks regarding its chipset and internal specs will appear online. However, it would be worth seeing how well these leaks match the official parameters of the device.
