Huawei EMUI November 2024 patch

We’re on 5th November 2024 and Huawei has revealed new security patch details for its EMUI and HarmonyOS devices. Unlike the previous patch, the latest security package contains a bunch of fixes for privacy exploits and harmful vulnerabilities.

Huawei has eliminated around 21 vulnerabilities with the November 2024 security patch for EMUI and HarmonyOS models. The figure includes 1 critical, 2 high, and 18 medium-level CVEs. These are related to system modules and settings.

Some of these ruin the Gallery app while a few exploit the home screen. It also hinders the overall functioning of the device and makes it more open to hidden bugs.

Apart from these vulnerabilities, the company has resolved 4 critical as well as 11 high-level third-party library problems that are generally related to mobile applications. But something more worthy is the “affected software versions” section.

HarmonyOS 5.0

This time, the company has added HarmonyOS 5.0 in the software section. Currently, the Watch GT 5 series is running on the new version. Although Huawei may soon roll out this update to more eligible wearables and tablets in the global markets.

Users having their devices on EMUI are now eyeing another roadmap for other eligible models. It seems Huawei will keep the EMUI 14.2 confined to the top-end handsets.

Though we can expect an improvement or feature update for the left-out models. You can check the EMUI and HarmonyOS November 2024 security patch details for Huawei devices below.
