Teardown reveals Huawei Mate XT beats iPhone 16 in internal design
Huawei Mate XT tri-fold has appeared as a huge amazement in the foldable market and an enthusiast tried to unfold more mysteries of this phone via a teardown. The disassembly reveals another aspect where the device beats the Apple iPhone 16.
A Weibo tipster recently performed the Huawei Mate XT teardown. He had described every component as a new surprise. Starting with the back panel, the tipster says the tri-fold is wrapped with pure fiber and leather material all around and not plastic.
The company has used a genuine plain leather material. It not only shields the device from scratches but also provides a comfortable grip. Read more about the material.
Further details reveal that Huawei has densely packed all the parts in the world’s first tri-fold handset. Most of the components are China-made. This implies the company’s aim of being self-reliant and supporting native firms or suppliers in the region.
The teardown shows a very thin motherboard. Other components like the font library, CPU, camera sensors, and more in the device, belong to Chinese suppliers.
Mate XT vs iPhone 16
Looking into the internal design, the tipster said the Huawei Mate XT outperformed the iPhone 16 in manufacturing. All the parts in the tri-fold are beautifully arranged and disassembling every component opens new surprises to the eyes.
“From a product perspective alone, the Mate XT completely beats the Apple iPhone 16 in terms of design and manufacturing process. The two are not products of the same level.”
Mate XT’s teardown also shows that Huawei is constantly improving its craftsmanship with every new flagship device. According to the tipster, the company has added a touch of innovation and creativity to its design capabilities with Mate XT.
It is worth mentioning that chipset details haven’t been confirmed in the teardown. However, as per a previous leak, the device runs on Kirin 9010 5G. The camera sensors are also a secret though we may soon get more details on this matter.
