WhatsApp testing Lists feature for both individual and group chats
WhatsApp has been working on a “Lists” feature for group chats but it seems the new addition will also be available for individual conversations. In the latest update, the company made the Lists section compatible for both individual and group chats.
Android beta testers are receiving the WhatsApp 2.24.18.9 testing build. It is rolling out via the Google Play Beta Program for limited users. However, the company will soon push off this enhancement to more application users with a broader release.
Earlier we reported that WhatsApp is testing a Lists feature to manage the group chats in the application. The added groups in lists will likely be at the top, prioritizing the communication needs. Now this feature will also be open for other contacts.
In the latest update, the details of the new feature are more clear. The tool will allow users to add both individual contacts as well as group chats to the lists. They can name these lists or add emoticons for fun and interesting chat management.
This feature will further enable users to easily share their content like status, files, images, or documents with specific persons rather than everyone. The WhatsApp Lists feature for individual and group chats is swirling in the testing phase. But it will soon be available to more users with an official update.
