Audi A5 Huawei driving solution

Audi – a German automotive manufacturer is in the news to adopt Huawei smart driving solution for its next-gen A5 Chinese vehicle models. The automaker is allegedly trying to boost its EVs’ driving experience with advanced tech solutions.

China has been one of the important markets for Audi. The firm already has two Chinese partners FAW and SAIC to run its smart car business effectively in China.

However, the automaker now aims to provide a top-class driving experience to its Chinese customers. This is why, Audi is seemingly joining forces with Huawei to adopt and use its smart car solution for its next-generation A5 electric vehicle.

The Audi A5 will be the last generation belonging to the gasoline car line. It will replace the A4 models in the market with powerful features and performance.

Gernot Doellner – the CEO of Audi Automobiles said to unveil the next-gen Audi model in 2026. Following the A5 vehicle launch, the company will edge out the gasoline car models completely. It seems the automaker is trying to make its last-gen gasoline EVs a perfect car with the Huawei smart car driving solutions.

When asked about this plan, Audi didn’t give the details. But the company didn’t deny the report either. It said that the firm’s Beijing-based ADAS and R&D department plans to deliver the best-in-class driver assistance systems for its upcoming as well as future models, bringing a premium experience to Chinese consumers.

Audi further said that it will collaborate with different suppliers and other EV partners in China and global markets to meet the “efficient car experience” goal. Although it refuses to disclose the names of specific suppliers on this matter.

Audi A5 will be developed on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) by FAW Audi and SAIC Audi. Some of the A5 car variants will likely run the Huawei smart driving solution. The car will probably show in November this year and begin sale in 2025.

It is unclear which solution Audi will borrow from the Chinese tech giant. It could be the ADS 3.0 or any other technologies for a better EV experience. Perhaps we may find more details on this matter in the coming days, stay tuned.
