EMUI 14.2 makes image selection easier with new ‘Compare’ tool

Huawei has unlocked many productive features with EMUI 14.2 but do you know about the “Compare Image” tool? Yes, it’s a new hidden feature that the company has not mentioned in the changelog. But it has many useful benefits for device owners.

As the term suggests, EMUI 14.2 Compare Image tool makes picture selection much easier. It saves time from selecting some of your favorite snaps from a big cluster. One can also use this feature to wipe out unwanted/duplicate images from the album.

The Compare tool appears as two rounded-corner boxes overlapping each other. Clicking on this icon enables users to compare two or more images. It is worth mentioning that you can compare a maximum of four pictures at a time.

Compare feature allows you to either add images to the ‘favorite‘ tab or put them into the trash. Hence, you can pick out images you would like to keep, at a glance by easily comparing similar images in the Gallery or the Album application.

Now let’s how you can use the EMUI 14.2 Compare tool.

Before proceeding, users should ensure that their device is running on the latest EMUI software version. The 14.2 build is only available to a few eligible devices. Although Huawei may soon bring these amazing enhancements to more models.

To begin with, open the Gallery app. Select desired images by holding down a picture for a while. You can either pick the images from the Photos tab or another other album in the application. Once done, click on the Compare tool in the toolbar below.

Now pinch your fingers on every picture to check in details or sync them with other image. Users can also tap on the compare tool given at the upper right corner of the screen to cancel the sync or apply the zoom function to a single picture.

After comparing all the images, you can either delete them or mark them as your favorite. It’s one of the easiest solutions to quickly explore, mark as a favorite, or delete unwanted images from your Gallery.
