WhatsApp preps a new ‘forward media’ feature for Channels
WhatsApp aims to make its Channels section more useful with a significant ‘forward media’ feature. Just like regular chats, users will soon be able to share or forward media content from one channel to another, without any interruption.
The company is now releasing a new WhatsApp Android beta with 2.24.14.15 version. The latest build is available to limited beta testers. If you want to check this capability in advance, then enroll yourself in the Google Play Beta Program.
Speaking of the feature, the new ‘Forward Media’ capability in WhatsApp Channels will enable channel users to forward texts, images, videos, and GIFs to their channels.
Channel admins can also opt for the same and share content from other apps or file explorers directly. This new add-on will ultimately eliminate the requirement of going through various steps or processes to share any interesting image or funny video to channels.
It makes the content or message-sharing experience more convenient for Channel subscribers. Now you don’t have to save an image or video before sharing or manually upload them to your channel. You can directly transfer the content from any application or different chats.
This will not only save you time but also make the Channels section more interactive. Since the feature is in the testing phase, it is only available to some beta testers. Although WhatsApp will soon bring this capability to general users via a stable release.
