WhatsApp preps useful ‘recent media’ feature for community group chats
WhatsApp continues to test new features for its Android as well as iOS users and in the latest edition, the company has rolled out a useful ‘recent media’ capability for the community section. The respective feature is mainly for group chats.
WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.13.4 build version accompanies a new ‘recent community media’ feature that will manage the media section in the community.
Using this feature, community members of a group chat will be able to easily check, view, and manage recently shared images, videos, or other relevant data. You can also check important links and documents in this “recent media” section.
When tapping on the Media in the community group chats, you will see two parts: Recent Media and All Media. Another significant point is that these sections will also show the storage space taken by the media files on the application.
As a result, you will also get the control of browsing media and deleting unwanted files from your app. This will ensure effective storage management for users.
Recent Media feature eliminates the effort of searching new or old media within the community. WhatsApp is currently rolling out this feature to some beta testers. If you want to skip this wait, you can enroll in the Google Play Beta Program to test the new feature.
