Huawei overtakes Apple in Chinese high-end smartphone ranking amid 618 sales
Huawei has surpassed Apple in the Chinese high-end smartphone listing amid the ongoing 618 sales festival. The former continues to dominate in the home ground and gives tough competition to its rivals in the flagship smartphones category.
618 shopping festival is not only a sale event but a platform for vendors to showcase the latest consumer trends and flaunt their products. This mid-year sales fest also helps tech makers to promote their devices on the largest e-commerce sites.
Following the 618 sales festival, Huawei and Apple tried to spot the top rank in the Chinese high-end smartphone market. As per the JD.com phone race listing, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Apple scored quite well in the mobile phone racing category.
Huawei vs Apple
Although Huawei phone units took over iPhone handsets by a huge number. Apple listed three devices iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
But Huawei became the star of the show with 5 entries including the full Pura 70 series and the Mate 60 Pro. Despite a higher price value, the Mate 60 Pro continues to be the ‘all-time favorite’ among Chinese consumers.
Another reason why Huawei is on top seems to be the growing shift of consumers towards native products rather than choosing U.S.-based or foreign devices.
Mate 60 Pro’s original price is 6499 yuan. While the cost reduction of the device is quite low on JD.com during the 618 sales, the device still sold in good numbers.
Other than Huawei and Apple, Vivo also secured two positions in the 618 sales for high-end smartphones due to X Fold 3 and X100 Ultra. The overall sales show that consumers are more interested in upgrades and innovations which ultimately press Apple for better iPhone launches to compete with its opponents in the market.
