WhatsApp readying a new privacy feature to protect your profile photo
WhatsApp is preparing a new privacy feature that aims to protect your profile photo from prying eyes. With the coming stable versions, users will be able to block all those creepy contacts that often screenshot their display profile images.
Spotted in the iOS beta build 24.10.10.70, WhatsApp is testing a useful privacy feature – Screenshot blocking for the profile photo. By the name, the approaching capability will increase the privacy shielding aspects across the chat application.
As soon as someone tries to screenshot your profile picture, a pop-up text will appear on their phone’s screen notifying them that they can’t capture the image.

Hence, the feature eliminates the risk of sharing your WhatsApp profile image with others in an unauthorized manner. Perhaps you don’t need to replace your display picture due to the fear of those who may screenshot your snap without your consent.
It is worth mentioning that WhatsApp introduced such a feature for the Android application version in February this year. Although it is still in the beta stage and may take some time to go official for all general consumers.
Note that the new feature is currently available to a small number of iOS testers via the TestFlight Beta Program. But the company will soon initiate a broader release.
