WhatsApp brings ‘transfer channel ownership’ feature for beta testers
WhatsApp is now releasing a significant feature to Android beta testers in the form of ‘transfer channel ownership’. It is one of the most requested capability for the application and the company is finally rolling it out to a handful of users for the moment.
Spotted in the Android 2.24.4.22 beta update, WhatsApp is bringing the transfer channel ownership feature. From the name, the respective tool in the application lets you provide access to your channel to other users as per your requirement.
It is a quite useful feature, allowing users to transition their ownership at times of need. Eventually, it will continue the work on your channels and maintain its efficiency among consumers. If you have distinct WhatsApp accounts or manage more than one channel then this feature will play wonders for you.
Speaking of the feature’s presence, the transfer ownership is available within the channel settings. The current owner can select a new owner from the eligible users list. After accepting the request, the new owner will have rights over your channel.
Here, the term rights refers to the ability to manage channel settings and info. The person can further opt for the deletion, dismiss other members or admins, and control the content for the respective channel.
Note that this feature is currently available in the beta update to some Android testers via the Google Play Store. Perhaps, you need to wait for the stable rollout to experience the latest addition.
