Huawei P70 series will equip upgraded ultra-wide angle camera: Kuo

Huawei P70 series could lift the photography standard to the next level this year with amazing camera features and an upgraded ultra-wide angle lens. In addition, we may find more surprising changes in the optical framework of the upcoming flagship lineup.

Huawei P70 series continues to spin around camera rumors and reports these days. Meanwhile, tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released new inputs on this matter and said that the approaching P-series will use a refined ultra-wide angle lens.

To begin with, Kuo said that Genius Electronic Optical is the supplier of the ultra-wide lens for Huawei P70. Notably, this optical firm provides the most advanced lens products worldwide. It works on manufacturing lenses, optical design, and equipment development to provide full-service lens solutions.

Perhaps, using ultrawide optical solutions from Genius will help Huawei with the production cost. At the same time, the firm offers a powerful structure that occupies less room over other lenses.

Ultra-Wide Angle Lens:

An ultra-wide-angle lens has a shorter focal length (below 24mm) compared to a wide-angle and provides an even wider view. It can reach infinity focus at close and far distances as well as reduce distortion that causes vertical lines to converge.

Moreover, it helps you in capturing the entire scene in a single shot. One can even obtain reflective images without resulting in diffraction issues. Hence, you get clean, sharp, and vibrant shots.

Eventually, Huawei may use an upgraded ultra-wide angle camera for the P70 series, supplied by the Genius Electronic Optical. Though there aren’t any specific details regarding the lens features, Kuo predicts that this addition will raise Huawei’s shipment growth by 100-120% YoY, compared to the P60 series.

Apart from Huawei’s new flagship, Genius Optical supplier is also serving periscope and ultra-wide camera solutions to iPhone 16 Pro models along with a front-facing lens for iPhone 17. It seems as if these solutions will continue to reach more companies with effective functionalities, later this year.
