HarmonyOS software system development for PC nears completion: Insider
News regarding HarmonyOS reveals that Huawei is working on a dedicated software system for PC(s) which is almost complete. The company is not only focusing on the HarmonyOS expansion for smartphones but also looking for more devices to join the new ecosystem.
According to the 21st Century Economic Report, Huawei Insiders said that the tech giant is developing an independent HarmonyOS software system for the PC category. The overall development is at the edge of completion. Perhaps, the company will soon mark some official words on this matter.
The report further highlights that the new HarmonyOS ecosystem will be more vast than imagination. It will be an independent software layer that will reach more devices and smart gadgets in the time ahead. Huawei is preparing a major upgrade for its software industry chain.
As per previous revelations, one of the former executives of the company said that Huawei is considering a dedicated HarmonyOS system for PCs which may arrive next year (2024). Eventually, things seem to be on track for the moment.
Speaking of the new PC software, it is uncertain if the development relies upon open-source OpenHarmony or the new HarmonyOS NEXT operating system. Although the company is looking after every aspect that can make the new product a success.
Notably, the HarmonyOS operating system is a self-developed OS by Huawei that came into existence in 2019. It uproots on a microkernel and lies upon a distributive architecture to achieve cross-device connectivity and seamless operations. With a new HarmonyOS version, the company wants to improve things to a better scale.
