Huawei plans to develop open-source backup software for efficient data safety
During the OceanProtect data protection product launch conference, Huawei shared its plans to develop an open-source backup software for data safety. This invention will further help in improving backup operations for smart finance and autonomous driving fields.
Speaking about the software, Huawei said that it would soon introduce an open-eBackup for the newly launched OceanProtect data protection products. Perhaps, it will make the overall usage of the backup storage system more comprehensive than before.
As per the details, Huawei has been working on open-source backup software for the past two years. Consequently, the tech giant will initiate the software development into action in the first half of 2024. It will put the product into openEuler to transfer the source code, hire developers, and provide relevant tools.
The company didn’t elaborate much on this subject. Hence, we need to wait for the next year to see how Huawei will approach a new backup experience for its consumers.
Huawei understands the importance of data safety for users and believes that the open-source backup software will enhance data protection. At the same time, the company will impose advanced functions on its new software that can reduce hidden risks for data security in China.
