Huawei unveils OceanProtect X9000 and E8000 backup storage products
Today, Huawei held the OceanProtect data protection launch event and unveiled two dynamic backup storage products named X9000 and E8000. These all-in-one storage systems significantly strengthen data security for enterprises.
Huawei OceanProtect X9000 and E8000 backup storage products have a 65% data reduction rate. The company has developed these systems with six-layered anti-ransomware protection, ensuring tough security of data storage.
The former is the first performance-based backup storage system in the industry. It is capable of delivering 130TB/hour of backup bandwidth with 72TB/hr of recovery bandwidth.
Whereas, the latter (E8000) has distributive properties and looks after every aspect. It offers a boosting logical capacity of 144PB on a single node and can expand up to 4096 nodes. Both these storage systems install open-source backup software.
In terms of features, Huawei OceanProtect X9000 and E8000 tend to work efficiently in smart finance and autonomous driving operations. At the same time, it will safeguard the digital inputs of enterprises from malicious threats and attacks.
On the greener side, Huawei said to initiate open-eBackup to provide a unified and comprehensive backup software experience to its users. The President of Huawei Storage Product Line – Zhou Yuefeng threw some light on the company’s data backup plans.
Huawei Data Backup Strategy:
Yuefeng mentioned that data backup awareness is at a low stage in China and requires attention. The fundamentals of backup software are lagging while the proportion rate is significantly decreasing. Eventually, these factors can lead to several risks to users’ data security.
However, Huawei will constantly explore backup storage technologies to offer more efficient data security. The company is taking major steps in native flash memory architecture, data reduction protocols, and backup software.
Till now, the company has provided systematic backup storage structures to 10000+ enterprise customers in around 120 countries. Huawei will continue to build more reliable and safer backup storage systems to improve data security in China.
