MediaTek 9300 chip roars on Antutu and outpace Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on Geekbench

On October 23, 2023, Antutu shared the test score of the upcoming flagship MediaTek 9300 chipset. The chip exceeded the current benchmark of Android performance, reaching an unprecedented 2.05 million points.

This is the first time in the history of the AnTuTu V10 version that a product has exceeded 2 million points. Setting a new peak performance bar in Android flagships and even stronger than new platforms from competitors.

Architecture:

According to AnTuTu, the Dimensity 9300 architecture includes four ultra-large Cortex-X4 cores and four large-core Cortex-A720 in the CPU part. According to past reports, Dimensity 9300 will use a combination of 4 x Cortex-X4 + 4 x Cortex-A720.

According to Arm’s official statement, the performance of Cortex-X4 has increased by more than 15%. On the other side, the power consumption has been reduced by 40% and the energy efficiency of Cortex-A720 has increased by 20%.

The combination of the two can greatly increase performance while significantly reducing power consumption creating a win-win situation to achieve performance and energy efficiency.

RAM:

Dimensity 9300 is the first to support LPDDR5T memory. The measured peak speed has reached 9.6Gbps, which is currently the fastest mobile flash memory in the world. In the future, the combination of the two in smartphones will provide a faster experience and a re-run on the benchmark would provide a different result.

GPU:

Dimensity 9300 is using Immortalis-G720 GPU, which is also Arm’s latest flagship product this year. The performance per watt has been improved by 15%, the peak performance has been improved by 15%. It supports deferred vertex shading (DVS) technology, which greatly Improves the game frame rate.

The past report suggests that MediaTek could adjust the GPU to reduce the daily power consumption of the G720 can be reduced by 25%.

Moreover, the new generation of light chasing has been greatly upgraded, and it can even achieve PC-level special effects. Even playing 3A on Android phones in the future will no longer be a dream.

Geekbench:

The chip was also spotted on Geekbench and received a single-core score of 2139 points and 7110 points on a multi-core score. Compared with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, MediaTek Dimensity 9300 has a higher multi-core score. The current multi-core score of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is less than 7,000 points.

For now, there’s no official date announced for its launch but the revelation about MediaTek 9300 via Antutu and Geekbench tells a lot about its changed approach towards performance.
