iPhone 15 Pro Max and Huawei Mate 60 Pro boasts Largan camera sales
Both Huawei and Apple are doing robust sales for the latest Huawei Mate 60 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max respectively, helping the lens maker – Largan Precision to achieve better business results.
Industry Analyst, Ming Chi Kuo predicted that Largan’s September 2023 revenue reached NT$5.572 billion. This is the first highest score post in the past 46 months, attributed to Huawei Mate 60 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max sales. The analyst expects that the sales will continue to forge ahead even in the first quarter of 2024.
According to the official announcement, Largan will host Q3 2023 business results conference call on October 12. The company will share the business results of the last 3 months. The conference call will be hosted by Ms. Grace Chen, Head of Taiwan Hardware Tech Research, UBS.
iPhone 15 Pro Max is using a new telephoto periscope zoom lens, which is called tetraprism telephoto. From what we’ve observed it’s a periscope module, used in Huawei Mate 60 Pro but in a different way and a new stabilization system.
Kuo also noted that Largan’s yield for producing new specification lenses would start to improve significantly in the 4Q. Therefore, before Apple cuts the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max telephoto lens, Largan’s profit/EPS is expected to grow significantly due to the improved yield.
Largan 2024:
To conclude, the analyst predicted that Largan’s growth in 2024 would be heavily dependent on iPhone 16 Pro models and Huawei’s next generation of flagship phones. For now, Kuo has not revealed the names of these new high-end devices but we could expect them to be Huawei P70 and Mate 70. This suggests that both of the phone makers will continue to make new changes in their camera offerings.
For now, Huawei Mate 60 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are the driving force for Largan, so the camera seller could sustain better numbers with their growing popularity.
