Kirin 9000s used in Huawei Mate 60 Pro? Here’s what we’ve found

Huawei Mate 60 Pro is officially unveiled and there are various screenshots circling around the internet including Kirin 9000s. Images shared from the Huawei Mate 60 Pro device show that the phone is using Kirin 9000s chipset.

Two of the screenshot from device information apps reveals contradictory specifications. The first screenshot of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro shows octa-core architecture including 4 x 2.15GHz large cores + 4 x 1.53GHz small cores.

Another device information app shows that the Kirin 9000s octa-core architecture consists of 1 x 2.62GHz super large core + 3 x 2.15GHz large cores and 4 x 1.53GHz small cores.

Both of these apps show Huawei’s self-developed Maleoon 910 GPU with 3.2 OpenGL support. Also, the processor is 64bit and both apps confirmed the chipset name as Kirin 9000s.

Aside from these, Huawei has not mentioned chipset information in the official specifications. Past reports suggest that Huawei will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ platform for this flagship. However, the company may have changed the plan, which is uncertain at the moment.

Moreover, the Kirin 9000s process technology is also unknown, and it may have been developed domestically by the tech maker SMIC. But don’t have any official confirmation on this matter.

You should know that Kirin chipset production has been out of action since 2020, especially the flagship processors. The company cannot print new Kirin chips, that’s why, Huawei is using Snapdragon processors in its latest devices.
