Honor Magic V2 is the lightest at 231g, slimmest at 4.7mm, and 9.9mm (closed) foldable phone
Today, Honor Magic V2 will officially unveil but early specs show that it will be the lightest foldable phone standing at 231g and even slimmer than Huawei Mate X3.
A leaked render reveals that Honor Magic V2 side foldable weighs only 231g, making it the lightest. Once opened, the phone is the slimmest at 4.7mm. That’s not it, Magic V2 measures only 9.9mm while it’s closed.
The first generation of Honor Magic V had 288 grams of weight. It is slim at 14.3mm in closed and 6.7mm open state. The improvements made to the successor are clear and sound.
Meanwhile, the weight of the Huawei Mate X3 stands at 239 grams. It has 5.3mm and 11.08mm depth for opened and closed states respectively. This is by far the slimmest and the lightest phone ever but with the launch of Honor Magic V2, Huawei will have to settle for second place.
Looking at the current Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which weighs 263 grams. The depth measures 6.3mm and 14.2mm in open and closed states respectively.
Shrinking the components:
According to Huawei, the weight cut in the Mate X3 is achieved by using customized and trimmed components including the USB Type-C module. Similar improvements are made in Honor Magic V2.
Other than that, Honor Magic V2 is likely to come with a large 5000mAh battery. It seems sufficient to provide a good backup of such a large device.
Specs:
This smartphone is using the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and Gen 2 platform for the special edition. Also, the main display could equip at 7.9 inches with LTPO tech. There are new cameras arranged on the back, and the phone will run MagicOS 7.1 out of the box.
Aside from the specs, Honor is ready to fight against competitors with these new design shifts. And it seems like the company is going in the right direction.
