Huawei speed up returning dual flagship launch: Report

Huawei is preparing to launch the Huawei Mate 60 series in the second half of this year and returning to the tradition of a dual flagship launch cycle.

Chinese media, Global Times report that Huawei is moving to launch Huawei Mate 60 series later this year. The media cited sources in the supply chain industry and the shipment of phone components. A similar source has confirmed that Huawei is planning to release this flagship around September.

Last October, Huawei launched Mate 50 series and it brought many new technologies including the world’s first Satellite SMS technology. Earlier this year, Huawei unveiled the Huawei P60 series.

After the launch event, Huawei Consumer Business Group President, He Gang said that Huawei has reformed most of its supply chain and it may return to dual flagship soon.

The past report reveals that Huawei has increased its mobile phone shipments target in 2023 to 40 million units, an increase of 10 million units from the target originally set at the beginning of the year. According to market research firm Omdia, Huawei shipped 28 million mobile phones in 2022. Insiders believe that Huawei will return to full rhythm this year.

Currently, Huawei has not confirmed the launch of this new flagship via official channels but it’s super exciting that Huawei is returning to dual flagship trend.
