5G supply will not interrupt due to Coronavirus outbreak, says Huawei

On Thursday, Huawei launched its new 5G products and solutions for the industry and the company said its supply of 5G products to customers will not be affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.

China is a manufacturing hub for most of the technology that served globally and the country has been hit by the coronavirus outbreak followed by travel restrictions.

Yang Chaobin, Huawei’s president of the 5G product line, told reporters 5G equipment was currently manufactured in Huawei’s own factories, reports Reuters.

“Since the outbreak of the virus it’s been some time and actually all Huawei’s own factories have resumed production,” said Yang. “The major suppliers have resumed production as well, so there’s no impact at all to the supply to our customers.”

So far, Huawei acquires 91 commercial 5G contracts and shipped over 600,000 5G Massive MIMO Active Antenna Units (AAUs) globally, which is an increase over its previous record and higher than its competitors.
