108MP + 10X optical zoom camera smartphone in 2020, Huawei will be the first?

In the past years, Huawei has revolutionized the smartphone camera photography and took it to another level with multi-camera technologies, which is copied by other top smartphone manufacturers.

Nowadays, there’s a new prediction that in 2020 smartphone camera will cross 100 million pixels. As an effect some camera module manufacturers said they’ll focus more on camera lenses for high-end phones and is expected to lead the industry in the launching of 108MP camera lenses.

Also, more camera pixels means more possibility for a higher amount of Zooming levels such as 10X optical.

Huawei and its competitors currently emphasize 48MP lenses and there are talks that a 64MP enabled phone will also be introduced later this year.

The main challenge for higher quality images lies in storage management, which will require more size compared to the regular 4K images. On the advantage side, with high-pixels, the image will be more realistic and provide higher editability to apply better image effects.
