Honor Magic V3 makes global debut with thinnest foldable design

On September 5, 2024, Honor launched the Magic V3 foldable in the global market with incredible features and high-end capabilities. The new folding phone will give tough competition to various book-type models in the worldwide foldable market.

The device measures 9.2mm when folded and is the thinnest AI foldable. Other dimensions are 156.6mm in height and weigh 230 grams. (Black variant: 226 grams).

Thinnest & Lightest Foldable

Magic V3 adopts a super steel hinge. It not only makes the phone thinner but also durable. The device has survived around 500000 folds and claims to provide the best user experience. The inner screen uses non-newtonian fluid and nonscale anti-wear coating to boost the phone’s lifespan.

Honor has crafted Magic V3 with aerospace-grade fibers. It adopts an anti-scratch nanocrystal coating on the screen and an extra protective film which increases the scratch and drop resistance by 10 times. These materials hike the phone’s durability by 40 times.

The device uses a 7.92-inch inner OLED screen and a 6.43-inch outer OLED panel. These screens support the AI defocus lens principle to reduce eye fatigue and offer a better visual experience.

Other screen parameters include 1.07 billion colors, DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 4320Hz PWM dimming, and flicker-free capabilities.

Internal Configuration

The foldable phone equips the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip paired with Adreno 750 GPU. It comes with the MagicOS 8.0.1 software system and supports several AI functionalities. The enhanced C1+ chip in the model ensures efficient performance of both hardware and software. Whereas, the discrete security S1 chip looks after the privacy aspects.

Honor uses a Silicon Carbon cell with a capacity of 5150mAh that offers a long battery life to Magic V3. It supports 66W SuperCharge wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
